About My Camino Guide
Built by a Pilgrim, for Pilgrims
My Camino Guide was created by Quinton Wall, a developer, photographer, and experienced long-distance hiker who knows firsthand what it means to walk the Camino with intention.
Quinton has walked multiple Camino routes, including:
- Camino del Norte – The rugged northern coastal route along the Bay of Biscay
- Camino Francés – The classic pilgrimage path across northern Spain
- Camino Portugués – From Lisbon to Santiago, including both the coastal and central routes
- Via Podiensis – The full journey from Le Puy-en-Velay in France, all the way to Santiago de Compostela
These thousands of kilometers on the trail taught him that the Camino is more than a hike – it's a practice of presence, reflection, and connection. Each route has its own character, challenges, and gifts. That lived experience informs every aspect of My Camino Guide.
Why I Built This
Planning a Camino pilgrimage can be overwhelming. Which route? How many days? Where to stay? What to pack? The answers depend on your pace, your preferences, and your purpose for walking.
My Camino Guide uses AI to provide personalized recommendations based on your unique circumstances – not generic advice, but guidance that considers your fitness level, time constraints, budget, and what you hope to discover along the way.
Whether you're a first-time pilgrim unsure where to start, or a seasoned walker planning your next route, I'm here to help you prepare for a meaningful journey.
My Philosophy
I wanted to build something that feels like having a friendly, local guide – someone who knows the trails, the towns, and the hidden gems, and can give you advice whenever you need it.
The Camino shouldn't be about stressing over logistics. It should be about the walk, the people you meet, the thoughts that arise when you have hours of uninterrupted time with yourself. My goal is to handle the planning details so you can focus on what really matters: the journey.
The real transformation happens on the trail. I'm just here to help you get there.
Mental Preparation
My Camino Guide helps you with the preparation and logistics of your pilgrimage, but to successfully complete the Camino – or any long journey – you also need to prepare yourself mentally. The physical challenge is real, but the mental challenge is often what determines whether you make it to Santiago.
That's why I wrote this book.
